5 apps to boost business

The digital age is well and truly upon us and you’re falling behind if you aren’t on board. But the number of apps available is almost dizzying; with so many out there, how are you supposed to know what to get?

I’ve decided to share 5 apps from the App Store that I think will help boost your business and save you from unnecessary headaches:

join.me

Collaboration made easy, join.me provides an easy-to-use platform to host meetings and to share files from devices.

The app allows users to join audio conferences using VoIP or one’s own conference line, share files using Apple’s “Open in” function, view a colleague’s or client’s screen from your iPhone, iPad or iPad Touch, and even store away shared files during online meetings.

Price: Free – Basic. Fees – Upgraded capabilities

Square Register

A rapidly rising point-of-sale app, Square Register allows you to keep an eye on your business’ sales and inventory with a focus on analytics.

Allowing users to register transactions, recording cash transactions and gift cards (among other forms of tender), Square Register sends invoices straight to your email and allows you to even send receipts via text message.

Real-time sales data and the ability to connect to receipt printers, bar code scanners and cash drawers makes this one that you should get your hands on.

Price: flat rate of 2.75% + $0.00 for all swiped and online transactions

Hightail

A straightforward file-sharing app that you won’t regret downloading, Hightail allows you to send files up to 10GB in size. It’s certainly a convenient allowance of data, and the fact that you can control documents with password protection, file tracking and more makes it a no-brainer.

Note that you will have to pay a bit to take advantage of all the features, which also includes the ability to sign a document and send it right back, with Pro in-app purchases available for around $15.99 for 30 days.

Prices: Free – Basic.

1. Pro for a month$12.99
2. ProPlus subscription$19.99
3. Pro subscription$12.99
4. ProPlus for a month$19.99

LinkedIn

An obvious one, to be sure, but a completely necessary app to have nevertheless. LinkedIn holds the power to keep you connected the professional network that you’ve made, with the ability to send messages and share content.

Forget Facebook and Twitter, this is the social media application meant for the working community. Whether you’re a CEO looking for new talent or an entrepreneur looking to make the right connection, I’ve found the possibilities with LinkedIn are almost endless.

Price: Free – Basic.

1. For Talent Professionals: $59.99 monthly
2. For Sales Professionals: Three tiers, starting at $24.99 monthly
3. For Business Professionals: Four tiers, starting at $9.99 monthly

CamCard

Don’t worry about trying to hold onto all those physical paper business cards you gather at functions and business meetings, CamCard allows you to scan and store cards, exchange them the e-way, and sync the info to additional devices.

Turning your collection of business cards into a database of sorts, CamCard will even allow you to navigate to that contact’s address in Map, get contact updates, and add notes and reminders to contacts.
