Meet Ben Hardy-Rollins, Product Manager, NSW
- What do you do at CreditorWatch? Product Manager.
- What made you want to join CreditorWatch? A couple of things really, the product looked great and the emphasis on the people and culture is something that I believe drives businesses forward.
- What’s the biggest career lesson you’ve learnt so far? To push yourself out of your comfort zone. It’s often rewarding and you learn a lot from the experience.
- What was your first job? Pot washer.
- What are you most passionate about? Anything nature related. From going for walks, to just growing plants.
- Who or what is your biggest inspiration? My mum for her resilience and attitude towards adversity.
- If you could do another job for just one day, what would you do? A Physiotherapist.
- If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? What would you want to see? Having recently emigrated from the UK, there are a number of places close to Australia I’d like to visit. I am keen to travel to Japan as it has been on my bucket list for a long time.
- Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know? I used to live on an ostrich farm in the UK.
- What is your favourite band? I don’t really have a favourite but one that springs to mind is Royal Blood.
- What is your favourite movie? Anything Star Wars related.
- What is your favourite food? This is a tough one as I love food! I do eat an unhealthy amount of Nachos.
- What is your favourite book? I would probably say one that sticks to mind is the ‘His Dark Materials’ trilogy from Philip Pulman. It had me captivated when I was younger.
Meet Alberto Cubeddu, Head of Development, NSW
- What do you do at CreditorWatch and why do you love it? I’m acting as head of development, and I think I do the most exciting job in CreditorWatch. I love it because I work in close contact with various personalities. My priority is ensuring they can reach their maximum potential as individuals and in a product team when the real magic happens.
- What does your average workday look like? First thing first: COFFEE! Then the day starts with my usual routine:
- 1) Organise the day using Eisenhower’s method.
- 2) Read all the emails from the email before, check the system healthiness and look all over the communication channels.
- 3) Say good morning to the team.
- 4) Start to work on the list <- plus add all the other items that Joe would assign me.
- 5) Regular interval and email check every hour
- 6) Let the day flow and do what we do best in the dev team: Drinking more coffee and producing code!
- What makes CreditorWatch special to you? The culture is a big drive, making us different from a “boring” fin-tech!
- What’s the biggest career lesson you’ve learnt so far? No matter how good you’re doing your job, you need to be able to sell it too.
- What was your first job? Ticket Taker; however, I’ve been promoted to usher in a couple of weeks as I love to talk with people (from when I was six years old).
- What are you most passionate about? Surfing is my passion; the ability to be in contact with the ocean, to feel that water covering your head… well, it’s impossible to get more stoked! However, I do enjoy any kind of board sport!
- Who or what is your biggest inspiration? Always my dad! He achieved to do whatever he wanted in life with a smile.
- If you could do another job for just one day, what would you do? I would like to be in an HR position! I never tried it before, and it would be interesting.
- What was your favourite part of 2021? That is is over! However, I am forever grateful to have made it through lockdown with a group of people that went above and beyond to make sure everyone was okay.
- If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? What would you want to see? If I must be realistic there will be just one answer: HOME! However, allow me to dream for a second, I would like to see any other advanced life-form and ask them for a proper driverless car! Imagine how good it would be to go surfing on Friday night and be back in Sydney on a Monday morning!
