Meet the Crew: Teagan Caruana and Lucy Stewart

Meet Teagan Caruana, Senior Account Manager

1.What do you do at CreditorWatch and why do you love it?
I am a Senior Account Manager here at CreditorWatch. I love the role as it’s the perfect mix of Sales and Customer Service. We are a competitive and high performing team which I’m proud to be a part of.

2. What does your average workday look like?

I like to keep the variety in the day by spreading out my customer meetings, calls and emails. I always make time to keep up to date what’s new at CreditorWatch (there is always something) and of course to socialise to break up the day.

3. What makes CreditorWatch special to you?

The culture at CredtiorWatch is unmatched! It also helps that the products are market leading and really sell itself.

4. What’s the biggest career lesson you’ve learnt so far?

Not to doubt my knowledge and capabilities. I often can get in my head before a big meeting but if you are prepared and take the time to listen to the customers’ needs things will work out.

5. What was your first job?

My very first job at 14 and 9 months was doing set up at Wedding Reception Venues. My siblings and cousins all worked at the same place, so we had lots of fun even though I was spending my weekends polishing cutlery and folding napkins.

6. What are you most passionate about?

Such as basic answer but I am completely obsessed with my dog Beans.

7. Who or what is your biggest inspiration?

Career wise, the one and only Dominic D’Andrea has always been my inspiration. We have worked together for many years. He is extremely knowledgeable and has taught me so much. He always finds time to help others and is a great role model.

8. If you could do another job for just one day, what would you do?

It would be cool to be a TV or Radio presenter for just one day. I love to chat.

8. What was your favourite part of 2022?

In just two weeks over the end of October and beginning of November, I got engaged and moved my whole life from Melbourne to Sydney.

10. If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? What would you want to see?

I’ve never been to Italy and specifically I’d love to go to the Amalfi coast.

Meet Lucy Stewart, Product Marketing Manager

1. What do you do at CreditorWatch and why do you love it?

I’ve just joined CreditorWatch thanks to the acquisition of Debtor Daddy. At Debtor Daddy I was the marketing specialist, taking care of all things marketing from writing blogs and guides to tinkering with the website and planning our presence at trade events. I’ve now joined the CreditorWatch marketing team and am currently focusing on supporting the launch of CreditorWatch Collect.

2. What does your average workday look like?

I’m a creature of routine, so it’s usually checking my emails, the Debtor Daddy marketing dashboard and triaging anything urgent/easy and then it’s straight to coffee. Once I’m caffeinated, I’m currently focusing a lot on content production relating to CreditorWatch Collect.

3. What makes CreditorWatch special to you?

Coming from Debtor Daddy, I think the special thing about CreditorWatch is that the acquisition really is great recognition of the amazing work that Matt McFedries, Mark Haussmann and Lora Sewell have put in over the years to create a product that is not only a slick finance tool but is one that helps businesses do business better.

4. What’s the biggest career lesson you’ve learnt so far?

I feel really privileged to have worked with some amazing people across such a variety of industries and roles. I think one of the biggest lessons I’ve taken away is that often the opportunities or steps you take that are the scariest at the time, end up being the most surprising, rewarding and fun. Surround yourself with interesting people and a bit of adventure and you won’t look back.

5. What was your first job?

When I was 14 I was employed at my dad’s work to clean their offices every weekend. That then turned into part-time reception job by the time I hit university.

6. What are you most passionate about?

My family.

7. Who or what is your biggest inspiration?

For me it’s nature. We have a beautiful view of the mountains, ocean and estuary from our house and we can be up walking in the hills within 5 minutes. This is what really calms me, helps me reset and stops my overactive brain from exploding.

8. If you could do another job for just one day, what would you do?

I’ve always thought being a florist would be a really nice way to spend your work day.

9. What was your favourite part of 2022?

With restrictions in New Zealand being properly lifted this year, we were able to take our first family holiday outside of New Zealand in over two years. We spent a fabulous week in Byron Bay enjoying the sunshine, some walks and the beaches.

10. If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? What would you want to see?

That’s a hard one. I’m torn between Hawaii because we love the sun and outdoors, France for a really good croissant and jambon beurre and Japan as I’ve never been there and would love to see the snow monkeys and ski some of their slopes.
