What do you do at CreditorWatch and why do you love it?

I love the company because I really and truly think they look after me, and support my work style. There is no micromanagement and the peers are super supportive

I am on the road quite a lot especially when I have meetings, are going out to see clients, or making phone calls.

What makes CreditorWatch special to you?

The company products are something that every business need and it helps people.

You can only sell when you believe in the products and the company. Another career lesson is that you really need a good company and good manager to be successful.

What was your first job?

A staff member at a small gift shop at the Victoria market when I was 16.

What are you most passionate about?

Career wise, I am most passionate about helping out people and see where I can assist in achieving.

Who or what is your biggest inspiration?

My manager, he showed me that at CreditorWatch, you can truly progress.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would you do?

I want to be a paid traveller, where you are paid to travel and review hotels and destinations.

What was your favourite part of 2021?

Too much lockdown, lol. Can’t really recall anymore.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? What would you want to see?

I really want to travel to Europe, Italy, France, I want to go and eat and see all the beautiful churches and specifically see the Louvre.

Meet Siwei Mu, Software Developer (NSW)

What do you do at CreditorWatch and why do you love it?

I am a backend developer. What amazes me the most is how well we have solved business problems with our all-around, business-centred products. We are witnessing a disruptive innovation of the credit report industry, initiated by us. It is unstoppable now. I wish I could have been here earlier.

What does your average workday look like?

Contributing to the code base, but also learning our products. I attended all the product demo session and tried to look at them from the users’ perspective. Our presenters made it quite enjoyable.

What makes CreditorWatch special to you?

Needless to say: the culture. There is a sense of trust in nearly everything. The ownership feeling is strong even for a newcomer.

What’s the biggest career lesson you’ve learnt so far?

Embracing team culture, cooperating with peers, and helping those who need – all of these lessons go a long way.

What was your first job?

It was a start-up company called Newton’s Nerds (Siwei is a nerd! ). We had a difficult start, with only one dining table to work on. When dinner was ready we had to move our laptops. Since I was the sole developer, I had the privilege to touch every aspect of the business. Eventually we became successful.

What are you most passionate about?

To be part of an advancing business, to work with a great team, to connect with awesome people, to build disruptive products.

Who or what is your biggest inspiration?

I appreciate failures. Each failure helps me grow a bit. This is also why I am quite tolerant with others’ mistakes. I am a strong believer that people learn faster from them.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would you do?

The answer changes frequently but stays in one category, the tough ones: like a uber eat driver, miner, construction worker, nurse… because they motivate me by helping me appreciate what I have.

What was your favourite part of 2021?

My friends. 2021 was a tough year for me so I am grateful they were there.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? What would you want to see?

Visit my families back in China. It has been a long time.
